Hey Product Hunt 👋 A bit of context before the pitch: Packlee is a case study for me as much as it is a product. I set out to learn the entire arc of shipping software end-to-end — from the first commit, through release, all the way to figuring out the marketing side. Not just "build an app," but "build, ship, position, and launch an app." Every stage was new territory at some point, and the only way to actually learn it was to go through it. The project itself ended up being one of the most rewarding things I've worked on. The amount you can build today as a single person — with the current generation of AI tools, frameworks, and infrastructure — genuinely changed how I think about what's possible. The world opened up. And yeah, everyone's shipping software right now, which is a good thing. I'm part of that. I came in as a designer with zero engineering background. No coding experience. But with AI's help — using it as a learning tool, a thinking partner, a second pair of hands — I picked up enough to actually build this. From design to product, from zero. That shift feels worth talking about. About the product itself: Packlee isn't trying to teach you a language. It's a surface for people who already know what they want to learn — specific words, phrases, expressions they keep running into. You add them, the AI handles translation/pronunciation/examples, spaced repetition makes them stick, and 4 game modes keep it from feeling like flashcard drilling. The 8 words/day default isn't arbitrary — 8 × 365 ≈ 2,900 words, which is roughly the threshold for conversational fluency. Consistency over volume. Would love to hear what you think — about the app, the approach, or the journey of shipping a project like this solo.
