OwnSpace

Free, local-first, no registration, no servers, your notes

Build your Digital Knowledge Space using Markdown, PARA and Local-first storage.

Top comment

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I built OwnSpace because I wanted a knowledge space that's truly mine — no registration, no subscription. It's a free PWA that lives in your browser. Your notes are stored locally as Markdown files in OPFS/IndexedDB, organized by the PARA method (Projects / Areas / Resources / Archive). And when you want sync, it goes directly from your browser to your cloud — I never touch your data. Some things I'm proud of: • Zero friction — open the URL and start writing, no account needed • Wiki-links ([[note]]) with a full graph view • Cloud sync • WYSIWYG Markdown editor (TipTap-based) It's free forever. Because knowledge tools shouldn't cost you. Would love to hear what you think — especially if you're coming from Obsidian, Logseq.

Who hunted OwnSpace?

OwnSpace was hunted by Alex. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
