Maker here. OwnMemory started because my Windows machine felt like a shared apartment I never signed for. I paid for the RAM. The background processes did not. Task Manager is a great guest list. It is a terrible doorman. So I built the doorman as a gatekeeper. You decide which applications are allowed to stay in memory. Everything else can be stopped once, or kept off the list continuously. Save that as a profile — coding, office, gaming, or your own house rules. It runs locally, offline. Nothing gets removed from your disk. A gatekeeper does not mop the floor. It decides who comes in.
