I'm Hamza, solo founder/dev. I've spent the last few years building a large-scale calculator platform (5,000+ tools, all programmatic SEO, all built solo), and Outsmart Notes came out of my own frustration: every "online notepad" I tried either synced my notes to a server I didn't trust, gated basic features like word count behind a paywall, or was just slow — multi-second load for a text box.
So I built this with a few deliberate constraints:
No React/Vue for the editor — plain JS, so it's typable in under a second even on a slow connection
IndexedDB instead of localStorage, so autosave never freezes the UI, even on huge notes
Zero-knowledge sharing — notes are encrypted in your browser with AES-GCM before they ever reach my server. The decryption key lives in the URL fragment, which browsers never transmit. I genuinely can't read a shared note even if I wanted to
Text tools built in, not bolted on: case conversion, line sort/dedupe, base64/URL encode-decode, regex find & replace — all run in a Web Worker so nothing lags
Installable offline PWA
It's free with a Pro tier for cloud sync across devices.
