Outfit Rater & AI Try-On | Slay or Nay
AI rates your ootd, generates glowup outfits, compares fits.
Unlike harsh "hot or not" apps, Slay or Nay is an AI fashion bestie that rates your outfit contextually — date night vs. gym vs. wedding each get different scoring criteria rooted in real fashion theory (Kibbe, Kitchener, 12-season color analysis). It doesn't just judge; it upgrades you with AI-generated glow-up looks, head-to-head outfit comparisons, and virtual try-on. No account required. Privacy-first. Gen-Z voice with tone control (hype/roast/balanced). One app for every styling decision.
What inspired me: Existing fashion apps were either overly harsh (binary hot/not), generic (no context awareness), or required a social login. I wanted something that felt like texting a fashion-savvy bestie — honest, specific, constructive, and private.
The problem: Most people don't have access to a personal stylist but face daily "does this work?" decisions for dates, interviews, parties, gym, etc. Generic feedback like "cute!" helps no one. Real styling advice needs to understand your body type, color season, the occasion, and your budget — which current tools completely ignore.
How the approach evolved: I started as a simple outfit scorer. Users immediately asked for "ok but how do I FIX it?" — so I built Glow-Up Vision (AI-generated upgraded looks). Then came Compare (head-to-head outfits), Try-On Studio (virtual garment try-on), and Style DNA (professional color/body/essence profiling). I also switched from a harsh deductive scoring model (start at 10, deduct flaws) to an inductive one (start at 7 for any clean outfit, reward intention) — because fashion AI should lift people up, not tear them down.
The privacy-first architecture (device-bound identity, no accounts, no photo storage) and complete bilingual support (English + Turkish with natural slang) came from wanting the app to feel truly personal and safe, not like another data-hungry platform.
