Orbit

Three strangers, gently bound by gravity.

Orbit is a silent study space where up to 3 anonymous strangers focus together in real time. No chat, rankings, or video calls — just calm co-study through orbital motion inspired by real space physics. Users share quiet rooms, listen to NASA soundscapes made from actual space data, and stay focused with science-backed timer design built for deep work, ADHD users, and introverts.

I built Orbit because most focus apps felt stuck between two extremes: either completely lonely, or overwhelmingly social. Traditional Pomodoro timers can feel isolating, while many “study together” apps rely on cameras, voice chat, rankings, or constant interaction. I wanted something quieter. The idea behind Orbit was simple: sometimes, just knowing that someone else is focusing nearby makes it easier to start. So Orbit creates a silent shared study space for up to 3 anonymous people. No profiles, no messages, no pressure — just calm presence. The orbital motion UI exists for the same reason: you can feel others around you without actually “seeing” them. A lot of the design was inspired by concepts like body doubling, ambient presence, and the feeling of studying in a late-night library. I also experimented heavily with the atmosphere itself — physics-based orbital motion, NASA space soundscapes created from real data, and a UI designed to feel calm instead of addictive. The goal wasn’t to build another productivity app. It was to create a place where people could quietly focus without feeling alone. Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback.

Who hunted Orbit?

Orbit was hunted by TAICHI MIYAZAKI. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
