Tom and I started OpenSpindle because we kept running into the problem of finding the right manufacturing partner that was harder than it should be. What started as an effort to simplify sourcing for custom construction projects quickly expanded when we realized hardware startups were facing the same challenge: spending countless hours finding shops, comparing quotes, and managing vendors.
We decided to build OpenSpindle around that problem by making custom manufacturing faster, simpler, and more accessible. Today, we’re helping hardware teams source parts across CNC machining, fabrication, 3D printing, carbon fiber, plastics, and metals, giving founders more time to focus on building instead of chasing suppliers.
