Who hunted OpenLens?
OpenLens was hunted by Cameron Witkowski. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community. Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm Cameron, co-founder of Bread Technologies (the company behind OpenLens).
A bit of context on why we built this:
Over the past 6-12 months, almost every marketing agency we've talked to has been getting the same question from their clients: "how are we showing up in AI?" And most of them don't have a good answer.
The existing tools aren't cutting it. Agencies are running clients through Semrush or piecing together custom GA4 filters and getting back either a black box or noise; nothing they can actually hand a client as "here's what to fix." We kept hearing the same complaint: existing tools tell you you have a problem, but not what to do about it.
So we built OpenLens. It's already being used by 35+ marketing agencies, with some of them managing hundreds of brand clients. We've been shaping the product based on what they tell us.
Here's what we think actually matters:
- Real competitive analysis. You see exactly where your competitors show up vs. where you do: by platform, by prompt, by attribute. Not just "you have a visibility score of 42" but which specific queries your competitors are winning and why.
-Source-level granularity. We don't just show you that Reddit cited you. We show you which Reddit thread. Which article. Which page. That's the difference between "we have work to do" and "we have three specific things to fix on Monday."
- Custom prompts at scale. Suggested prompts are fine for a demo. Real work looks like running hundreds of location-specific or category-specific prompts across many clients in a single sitting. The tool is built for that.
- Historical tracking. See how your visibility and your competitors' visibility change over time, so you can tell whether the work you're doing is actually moving the needle.
- Free forever, with a premium tier coming next month. The core product is free forever. We're launching a premium tier next month, shaped directly by the agencies already using OpenLens.
One more thing worth saying: we don't come from SEO. My co-founder Aman and I spun out of LLM research. We worked on LLM Control Theory and prompt baking before starting Bread. AI isn't SEO with a new coat of paint, and the tools treating it that way are a big part of why agencies keep telling us their existing monitoring isn't giving them anything to work with. There are dozens of teams building AI visibility tools out there. Most could never even tell you how attention works.
If you try it and something's broken, confusing, or missing, tell us. Neel led most of the product work and he'll be in the comments, along with the rest of the team who've poured a ton into getting this out.
Thanks for checking it out 🍞
