I built OpenDroid because I wanted Android to feel like it had a true AI agentβnot just a chatbot. Instead of answering questions, OpenDroid can actually do things on your phone: send messages, make calls, set reminders, open apps, control device settings, and automate everyday tasks using natural language.
A big goal was to avoid locking users into a single AI provider. OpenDroid supports multiple LLMs (Gemini, OpenAI, Claude, Groq, Ollama, and more), so you can choose the model that works best for you or even run one locally.
This is still just the beginning. I'm actively improving memory, automation, and on-device AI capabilities, and community feedback has been invaluable.
