Hi PH 👋 I built Open3D Viewer because Microsoft removed 3D Viewer from the Store on July 1, 2026, and suddenly nobody on Windows could double-click an .stl or .glb without hitting "no app associated with this file." Every alternative I found needed an account, a login, or a subscription — for the trivial task of *looking at a file*. Open3D Viewer is the anti-that: • Opens STL, GLB, OBJ, FBX, PLY, 3MF — everything MS 3D Viewer opened • PLUS STEP, IGES, DXF — the CAD formats MS never supported • Windows, Android, iOS, and a web version at open3d.app • No account, no upload, no subscription, no watermark • Runs offline once installed Bonus features: point-to-point measurement, walk-through mode (step inside architectural GLBs), cross-section, HDRI lighting, print-readiness checks for STL/3MF, screenshot + animated GIF capture. Would love your feedback — especially on which formats you'd want next.
