Open Reports

Design reports in your browser. Render them anywhere.

An MIT-licensed, self-hosted report designer and rendering engine. Design invoices, receipts, statements, and labels in the browser; render to PDF, DOCX, HTML, XLSX, CSV, ZPL, or ESC/POS. Embed the designer or send report JSON and data to the API. Early v0.x: not a drop-in JasperReports or Crystal Reports replacement; JRXML imports are partial drafts that need review.

Hi Product Hunt — I built Open Reports for application teams that need printable reports but want to keep template ownership, business data, and permissions in their own app. The host app selects and stores the JSON definition, prepares data, then calls the renderer when someone prints or downloads a PDF. You can also embed the designer and save edits back to your application. This is an early v0.x project, not a drop-in JasperReports or Crystal Reports replacement; JRXML imports are partial editable drafts, not exact conversions. I’d value a try on one simple report and candid feedback on where it falls short. Please use synthetic data in the shared demo.
