open-geo
Your GEO/AEO tracker is lying to you. This one isn't.
Most AI-visibility tools query an API or scrape the DOM. open-geo reads the real, rendered answer a logged-in user actually sees, in a browser, so the numbers match reality. Capture is an agent following a plain-language playbook, not hard-coded selectors, so it adapts when engines change their UI. You get an honest funnel of sources and citations, not a vanity score, and it flags unreliable runs instead of guessing.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built open-geo to answer one question: when people ask ChatGPT, Google's AI Overview or Gemini about your space, does your site actually show up in the answer? Your analytics can't see it, because the user never clicks through to you.
Most tools that measure this hit the engines' APIs or scrape the DOM. But that's not what a logged-in person actually sees. open-geo reads the real, rendered answer in a live browser, so the numbers match reality.
How it works: give it your queries and your domain. It runs each through a real logged-in Chrome and reports a clean funnel:
- did an AI answer show up
- did you make it into the sources
- were you cited in the text
- how the answer talks about your brand
You get a local dashboard and a PDF report, per brand, tracked over time.
Why it's built this way: capture is an AI agent following a plain-language playbook, not hard-coded selectors. When an engine redesigns its UI, the agent adapts instead of breaking, so your tracking keeps working as these surfaces change.
It's a point-in-time audit you run yourself (a Claude Code skill), open source and MIT, runs locally. 5 engines live today, Perplexity and DeepSeek next.
Who it's for:
- SEO/GEO consultants and agencies — show clients, on real data, whether they're cited in AI answers
- Teams building their own AI-visibility measurement — use open-geo as a ground-truth check that your API or scraping numbers actually match the real rendered answer
- Founders, devs and site owners — see if AI engines cite you, without an enterprise subscription
Try it on your own domain, then tell me: which engine should I add next, and what would make this a daily tool for you?

Who hunted open-geo?
open-geo was hunted by Vladimir Novikov. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
