Onami Radio

Radio, without the clutter

Onami is a focused radio player for discovering stations, saving favorites, and listening without clutter.

Top comment

I’m the indie developer behind Onami Radio. I know, another radio app, but I started building it because I wanted one that felt more like a stock iOS app: clean, native, fast, and focused on listening. The longer-term goal is a polished CarPlay radio experience. Most radio apps I tried did not quite have the design or feel I wanted in the car, so I’m starting with iPhone first and iterating from there. Onami lets you browse and search live radio stations, save favorites, add custom stations, view now-playing info when stations provide it, and use AirPlay. One feature I’m especially interested in is live song recognition with ShazamKit. A lot of radio stations have wrong, missing, or non-dynamic metadata, so Onami Plus can recognize the song from the live stream itself. When there’s a match, you can add the song directly to your Apple Music library. The catalog is still early and intentionally limited while I work on quality. It includes stations for a selected set of countries, and I plan to keep adding more over time.
