Okanize: Split, Settle and Manage money
Slack style for money: personal and shared budgets in one
Okanize is a budget app that works like Slack for money. Keep a personal space for your budget, plus unlimited shared spaces for your partner, roommates or trips. Your share of shared costs lands in your budget automatically. No ads, no AI. Free, with a 7-day Pro trial. Lets Okanize all your money beautifully!
We're the small team from Tokyo, Japan, behind Okanize, and we're happy to finally launch it after spending the last 6 months building it.
Okanize is a budget app built around spaces: one for your own money, and shared ones for the people you split costs with. We built it because no app did both well.
TLDR:
Vibe coded ? No , I learned swift UI from Paul Hudson courses, loved it and this is my first work.
Whats new? It brings slack style UI + less effort budget addition
Data security and shared with AI? No, we do have reciept scanning OCR but thats apples inbuilt model + our own parser (I'm a NLP scientist (PhD))
Ads? No, never. We hate them haha
Free? Always free, with Pro features you can try free for 7 days. But basic features are free forever.
Why we made it? Before writing any code, we tested a lot of budgeting apps (Moneko, Monarch, Ynab, Budget flow etc). Most were great for personal budgets or great for splitting bills, never both. Me and my partner were juggling two apps, and our "how much can we spend" number was never right. That made me think and assemble all the shortcomings of existing apps (majority of them) and made a mvp which resulted after months and months of developement into Okanize.
Whats new? Okanize works like Slack spaces + money management.
A personal space for your own budget, with a daily "you can spend X today" number
Unlimited Shared spaces for your partner, roommates or a trip with collaboration
Your share of any shared expense lands in your personal budget automatically
Settle up only when both people confirm
Savings goals with monthly targets
Receipt scanning with the iPhone's native scanner and an on-device parser.
What we care about No ads, No AI on your data.
Okanize is free to use, and Pro features come with a 7-day free trial.
We use it every day, and it's the first budgeting setup we've both stuck with.
We'd love your honest feedback: how do you handle shared expenses today, and what would make you switch? We'll be here all day answering every comment 🙏
