Offline Files
Find files on disconnected drives — privately, on your Mac
Offline Files is a fast, read-only catalog for Mac users with files spread across external, network, and internal drives. Search folders and files even when a drive is unplugged. Built for photographers, filmmakers, and anyone with a large archive. Everything stays local: no account, cloud, or telemetry.
I built Offline Files after wasting too much time connecting drive after drive just to locate an old project. It keeps a fast, read-only catalog of your disks, so you can search files and folders even when the drive is offline.
Everything stays on your Mac: no account, cloud, or telemetry. I'd especially love feedback from photographers, filmmakers, editors, and Mac users with large external-drive archives: what is the one file-finding workflow you still hate?

Who hunted Offline Files?
Offline Files was hunted by Paul Kothe. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
