Hi Product Hunt community,
I am the creator of Odinote, and I am very excited to share it with you today.
Odinote was born out of a personal frustration. As a creator, I love using visual boards and infinite canvases to map out complex ideas, structures, and workflows. However, most existing tools in this space are locked behind expensive monthly subscriptions, require constant internet connection, or do not offer complete control over your own data.
I wanted to build a tool that solves this while offering absolute freedom.
Here is what makes Odinote different:
- Nested Canvases: You can nest canvases recursively. You can double-click to enter a note, and it turns into a new canvas, letting you nest boards, lists, and visual assets as deeply as you need to structure your mind.
- Complete Privacy: The desktop application works fully offline and saves all data locally in standard folders. No user accounts are required, and your data never leaves your machine.
- Open Source: The project is licensed under the MIT license, making it free to copy, modify, and distribute.
- Interactive Web Demo: If you do not want to install the desktop app, you can try the full editor directly in your web browser.
