Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Thiago, creator of O Botão do Fim (The End Button).
The idea started as a deliberately absurd concept in a book I wrote called "Startups de um Mundo F*dido" (Startups from a F*cked Up World). The premise was simple: what if there was a global countdown to the end of the world, and the only thing that could stop it was someone pressing a button?
People told me it was too absurd to build.
So I built it.
O Botão do Fim is a web experience where a global counter drops from 1000 to 0 in real time. When it reaches zero, the world "resets" — unless someone presses the button first. Everyone sees the same counter, and every click resets the timer for everyone.
But it's not just a button. The site has layers:
- A live ticker mixing real news with fictional "cult bulletins"
- A radio with puzzles
- A waiting room with a mini-game
- A global monitoring panel pulling real data from NASA, USGS, and other public APIs (earthquakes, solar activity, near-Earth objects)
- A "ritual" page where you can support the project or invite others
Everything is free, no sign-up required. Just press the button.
