Hi PH 👋 I'm Matt, I build audio plugins as Composed Chaos.

I've spent 30 years as a software developer building solutions for other people, and 40 years as a multi-instrumentalist with a home studio, deep in rock and prog. Numen is where those two finally meet.

For years I've tinkered with building my own tools: plugins and effects that shape the sound I hear in my head. This release is my first real step toward turning what I love most, making music, into the work I do.

Numen is convolution reverb stripped to what actually matters: load an IR, shape the tail, done. I also synthesized a free 20-space IR pack that works in any convolution reverb, not just mine. Grab it whether or not Numen's for you: https://composed-chaos.com/ir-pack. Happy to answer anything about how it's built (JUCE, signed + notarized on macOS).

Who hunted Numen?

Numen was hunted by Composed Chaos. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
