Nodetto
A drawing tool for humans and AI
Draw interfaces, databases and systems on a local macOS canvas, or let AI edit the same Git-friendly JSONL files. A bundled Rust CLI and MCP server support drawing, inspection and SVG/PNG/PDF export. Free, open source, with no Node.js or Bun required.
Hi Product Hunt! Nodetto is a drawing tool for humans and AI.
Use the macOS editor to draw visually, or let your AI coding assistant create and edit drawings through nodetto-cli or its MCP server. The bundled CLI is a native Rust executable: no Node.js or Bun installation is required. Both work with the same readable JSONL files, so diagrams can live alongside your code and be reviewed in Git.
The gallery shows seven modes: web design, app design, ERD, architecture, UML classes, sequence diagrams and BPMN. The sequence example follows a website request through authentication, a cache lookup and a database fetch.
Nodetto is free and open source under the MIT license. Version 0.4.1 is available from nodetto.app, with installation instructions and source on GitHub.
I would love feedback on the visual editing experience, the CLI workflow and which drawing modes you would use most.
