Hey Hunters 👋 — I'm Fahim, the maker of Niyat. I built Niyat because I was tired of the two extremes in Islamic apps: feature-bloat ad farms that make daily practice feel like wading through a casino, or beautifully designed minimal apps that don't do enough. I wanted one focused tool I'd actually want to open every day. What it does: • GPS prayer times with every major calculation method (ISNA, MWL, Karachi, Umm al-Qura, Egyptian, Tehran) • Qibla finder that combines GPS bearing + live compass so it works even when your magnetometer is acting up • A library of 40 daily duas with Arabic, transliteration, English meaning, and the exact hadith reference for each — not the typical mystery-source list • Quran reader with multiple translations • A source-citing AI Q&A: ask any Islamic question and the answer pulls from the Quran, the six major hadith collections, and classical tafsir, with the exact reference cited. The goal: no hallucinated hadith, no vibes-based answers. The core (prayer times, qibla, duas, daily ayah, Quran) is free with no ads. Only the AI Q&A is paywalled. Happy to answer any questions about how the RAG pipeline works, how we picked the calculation methods, or anything else. Feedback genuinely welcome 🙏

Who hunted Niyat?

Niyat was hunted by Fahim Zahur. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
