NightOwl
Self-hosted Laravel monitoring for teams and agencies
NightOwl provides extensive observability for Laravel applications by storing telemetry collected by the official laravel/nightwatch package into your own PostgreSQL db. Pricing is flat-rate regardless of traffic volume, enabling cost-effective and scalable monitoring. It addresses the problem of vendor lock-in and unpredictable costs associated with per-event pricing, making it ideal for Laravel developers seeking full control over their application telemetry, data privacy, and cost management.
Hey everyone, Léonce here, founder of NightOwl.
I built this because I wanted Nightwatch-quality monitoring for my Laravel apps without breaking the bank or sending telemetry to someone else's servers. NightOwl has two pieces:
1. An open-source agent (MIT on GitHub) that you install in your Laravel app. It writes directly to your own PostgreSQL.
2. A hosted dashboard that queries your database over an encrypted connection. Your request data never lives on my infrastructure.
A few deliberate choices worth calling out:
- Flat pricing: $5/mo hobby, $15/mo team, $69/mo agency. No per-event, no per-host, no overages.
- BYO Postgres: You already run one. Why pay us to run another?
- Agent is open source: If I disappear tomorrow, your telemetry pipeline keeps working.
Biggest question I expect: "Why not open-source the dashboard too?" Short answer — the agent is where the trust lives; the dashboard is how I eat. I'm solo, and this split is what makes the project sustainable.

Who hunted NightOwl?
NightOwl was hunted by Leonce Medewanou. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
