Night Story

See your night: snoring, pulse changes and sleep patterns

Night Story turns your iPhone into a private window into the night. See detected snoring events, their timing and frequency, review an optional short clip, add a morning check-in, and discover patterns over time. With Apple Watch, view available heart-rate changes beside night events. History, Trends, Insights, Daily Factors, Weekly Summaries and the Personal Sleep Guide turn separate nights into a longer story. No account is required, and full-night audio is never stored.

Hi Product Hunt — I'm Ruslan, the founder and iOS developer behind Night Story. Most sleep apps tell you how long you slept. Night Story tries to answer a more interesting question: what actually happened during your night while you were asleep? Place your iPhone near the bed, start Night Mode, and go to sleep. By morning, Night Story turns the night into a clear timeline — snoring events, when they happened, how the pattern changed from the night before. Add a quick morning check-in, and you start seeing the connection between what happened at night and how you actually felt waking up. The app also includes: - Night History with detailed records of completed nights - Daily Factors for noting habits and events that may affect sleep - Trends showing how sleep patterns change over time - Insights based on multiple complete nights - Weekly summaries - A local alarm - JSON and CSV data export - Personal Sleep Guide, which gradually learns from recorded nights First observations can begin after 3 complete nights. More established trends develop after 14. Night Story is designed to avoid dramatic conclusions from a single short session. WITH AN APPLE WATCH Optional, not required. When available, it adds heart-rate context to the nightly timeline — complementing the iPhone analysis rather than replacing it. FREE AND PREMIUM The free experience covers the core nightly workflow and building history. Premium adds deeper trends, the Personal Sleep Guide, weekly summaries, and export tools. Available as monthly or annual subscription, managed through Apple. PRIVACY - No account required - Analysis runs on the iPhone - Full-night audio is never stored — only optional short event clips - Users control their saved clips and data Night Story is a wellness app. It doesn't diagnose sleep apnea or any medical condition, and doesn't replace professional evaluation. I'd especially appreciate feedback on the onboarding, clarity of nightly results, usefulness of the Personal Sleep Guide, and whether the iPhone-only vs. Apple Watch difference is explained clearly.
