I built Night Drive because I noticed I was opening random distracting sites every time I needed a 2-minute break between tasks. I wanted something fast, fun, and contained — no new tab, no rabbit hole, just a quick game I could close and get right back to work.
The idea was simple: an endless night-driving game that lives in Chrome's side panel. Dodge traffic, collect coins, beat your high score — all without ever leaving the page you're working on.
Building it in the side panel (instead of a full extension popup or new tab) turned out to be the trickiest part — getting the game to feel smooth and responsive in that narrow, persistent space took a few iterations.
