Most todo apps make you maintain the list: fields, priorities, pruning. newdo inverts that. Type what you owe in plain words. It works out who it's for, when it's due and how big it is, then shows you the five things that matter today, each with a reason. Correct it in a sentence ("things from Arun are never urgent") and it writes a rule so the mistake never repeats. Local-first, no account, no AI model: dates, people and effort are inferred with rules, so it's instant and works offline.
Hi Product Hunt. I'm Shankar. This is a v0 I built for myself, out of frustration that every todo app makes me do the maintenance: fields, priorities, sorting, pruning.
newdo starts from the opposite premise: the list is an output. You type what you owe. It works out who it's for, when it's due and how big it is, and shows you five things that matter today with a reason under each. When it gets something wrong, you say so in a sentence and it turns that into a rule.
What's deliberately missing: accounts, sync, and an AI model. Everything runs in your browser with rules, so it's instant and private. If the idea holds up without a model, that's a signal worth having.
It opens with demo data so you can try it in 30 seconds. I'd genuinely like to know whether the reason line under each item earns its place. [email protected]
