Neuri

Brain Training App to Beat Doomscrolling & Build Focus

Neuri takes the addictive UX of social feeds and weaponizes it — to train cognition instead of destroy it. Inside a familiar scrollable feed: N-Back tasks for working memory, Stroop conflicts for inhibitory control, Schulte tables for sustained attention, spaced recall in narrative episodes. Built around the 19+ cognitive functions, anchored in peer-reviewed PubMed research. iOS + Android, early May 2026. Built for knowledge workers who know doomscrolling is hurting their performance.

Top comment

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm the founder of Neuri. After years building consumer products, I started noticing something uncomfortable: my own cognitive performance was deteriorating in ways that didn't match my workload. Tab hoarding. Losing track of variables while coding. Forgetting what I walked into a room to do. The cause was obvious — endless context-switching and short-form scrolling. The "solution" advice (turn off notifications, use Screen Time, do a digital detox) didn't work because it fights human dopamine biology head-on. So we built Neuri with a different premise: instead of fighting the addictive UX of social feeds, redirect it. Same scrolling motion. Same dopamine loop. But every interaction is a clinically-validated cognitive exercise — N-Back for working memory, Stroop conflicts for inhibitory control, spaced retrieval inside short narrative episodes for long-term memory. We call this category "Casual Cognitive Entertainment" — the gym for your brain disguised as the feed you'd actually open. Built with a technical cofounder who has deep neurotraining experience. 500-participant performance study completed. Launching on iOS + Google Play in early May 2026. Two questions for the HN/PH community: 1. For those who've tried "brain training" apps before — what's the single feature that would have made you actually stick with one beyond week one? 2. What's your honest take on "gamified cognitive training" as a category? Skeptics welcome. Site: https://neuri.app Waitlist is open now.
