Nerio
Source-first React design system with editable code
Nerio is an open-source React design system that installs as editable source code, not a locked UI package. It ships 46 accessible components (WCAG 2.2 AA), 950 semantic tokens with themes, light/dark modes and density, and a CLI that adds, diffs and safely updates components without overwriting your edits. A read-only MCP server and llms.txt let AI agents discover and assemble your UI. Built on React, Tailwind CSS v4 and Base UI. MIT licensed.
Hey Product Hunt! I'm Vladimir, the solo developer behind Nerio.
Why I built it: every product I worked on hit the same wall. Component libraries were fast to start with, but the moment the product needed its own look or behavior, I was fighting a package I couldn't edit. Copy-paste kits gave me the code, but no tokens, no update path, and no way to tell what I'd changed.
Nerio tries to give you both:
- Components install as editable source in your repo, so you own them
- A token system (primitive -> semantic -> component) with themes, light/dark modes and compact/comfortable density, so rebranding is a config change, not a rewrite
- A CLI that tracks what you installed: nerio diff shows local vs upstream changes, and nerio update never silently overwrites your edits
- Accessibility aligned with WCAG 2.2 AA: keyboard, focus and semantics handled by default
- AI-ready: a read-only MCP server and llms.txt so Cursor, Claude and other agents can discover components and build with them correctly
Nerio Core 1.0 is free and MIT licensed. Try the Playground on the site to switch themes, modes and density live.
I'd love your honest feedback: what's missing for you to use it in a real product, and which components should come next?

Who hunted Nerio?
Nerio was hunted by Vladimir Pavlov. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
