We built Nearbase because we kept running into the same problem: if you're building for users in Asia or the Middle East, your Postgres is probably in Virginia or Frankfurt. That's fine until your app feels sluggish in Jakarta and you can't figure out why. And the moment you spin up a closer instance on a major cloud provider, the bill gets painful fast.
So we focused on two things. First, actually being where your users are. We have dedicated data centers in ten regions: Jakarta, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, Dubai, and Virginia as a US edge. Your database sits in-region, which is what lets us target sub-10ms latency instead of routing halfway across the world.
Second, keeping it cheap. Instances start at $6/mo for 1 vCPU / 2 GB on ARM, storage is $3.6 per 10 GB/mo (20 GB minimum), so you're looking at roughly $13/mo all-in at the entry level. Same pricing in every region, no egress fees.
It's fully managed (backups, provisioning, maintenance) with a 99.99% uptime SLA.
