Who hunted Mysitee?
Mysitee was hunted by Elan Anandhan. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community. For a long time, I wanted to start and own a personal blog.
Every time I tried, I hit the same wall. Open WordPress, get buried in theme options and settings, and quit before I even found the post editor.
I tried Substack and Medium too.
I even run a newsletter on Substack, and it works fine. But it always feels like I'm performing for an audience. Subscribers come to mind whenever you think about writing.
Medium just become a content discovery platform than a place to write.
I found a few other minimalistic blogging options, but most were built around tech communities, with Markdown as the primary editor.
So I built Mysitee.
Mysitee is a minimalistic blogging platform for people who just want to write without worrying about the nuts and bolts of setting up a website.
You can publish your blog in three simple steps:
1. Pick an address
2. Write in a plain, distraction-free editor
3. Publish
The core philosophy is simple: encourage more people to write. Mysitee isn't another blogging CMS or content discovery platform. It will always remain a writer's platform.
If you've ever wanted to start a blog but never did, I'd love to know what stopped you.
