I'm an independent researcher. I spent the last long period trying to solve a massive math problem: how do you simulate complex human digestion and kinetics (like glucose spikes and muscle protein synthesis) in real-time without using slow, heavy math libraries and ODEs?
The solution was writing a completely novel algorithm from scratch. By replacing ODEs with gamma-variate distributions and FSMs, the model runs instantly. I achieved an 18% error rate against clinical data, while keeping the API response times under 150ms.
