My Next Book
Find your next favorite book in 10 seconds. Free, no signup.
I built My Next Book because I kept finishing a book I loved and then just... staring at my shelf. Goodreads recs always felt like they were for someone else. So: add a few books you've loved, get five picks back — each with a one-line reason why it fits you. Real covers and descriptions, not AI hallucinations (book data comes from Google Books). Free, no login, no ads. Would genuinely love to hear if the recommendations actually get your taste right — that's the whole bet.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built My Next Book because I kept finishing a book I loved and
then staring at my shelf with no idea what to read next. Goodreads
recommendations always felt like they were optimized for whatever
was trending, not what I actually liked.
So I made the tool I wanted:
🔍 You add a few books you've loved (no signup, no email)
🧠 Claude AI finds patterns in your taste — not just genre, but
tone, themes, character types, the things you can't quite
articulate yourself
📖 You get 5 personalized picks, each with a cover, a real
description from Google Books (no AI hallucinations on the
facts), and a one-sentence reason why it matches YOU specifically
It's free forever, no ads, no login walls. I cover costs with
Amazon affiliate links on the buy buttons (you don't pay extra).
The hardest engineering problem wasn't the AI — it was staying
under Google Books' 1,000 calls/day free tier while still feeling
instant. Layered caching, build-time bundled covers for 441
popular books, and a relevance-ranked search dropdown that often
answers without hitting the API at all.
Would LOVE feedback on:
- Recommendation quality — does it actually "get" your taste?
- Anything in the UX that feels off
- Books you'd love to see in the seeded popular list
