Mutuals
Unified discovery layer for experiences and people
Mutuals is SF's hottest new social app. It is a social discovery platform built around real-world experiences. Unlike platforms focused only on ticketing or invites, Mutuals combines event discovery, social coordination, communities, organizer tools, and social proof into one app. Users can discover events, see who’s going, make plans, and join communities, while hosts can manage guest lists, approvals, and check-ins. We’re also growing campus-first with school-gated communities and plans.
Hey everyone 👋
We’re excited to finally launch Mutuals.
We started Mutuals because we felt like real-world social discovery is still incredibly fragmented. People discover events through Instagram, coordinate in group chats, RSVP on Partiful, buy tickets elsewhere, and still often don’t know who’s actually going.
Mutuals is our attempt to bring all of that into one place.
The app helps people:
• discover events and plans nearby
• see which friends and mutuals are going
• make plans and coordinate socially
• join communities and campus groups
• and help hosts manage events more seamlessly
We launched first in San Francisco and are focusing heavily on campuses and local communities because we believe real-world social products become most valuable when they achieve strong local density. We’ve already started building an early presence at USF and within Bay Area student communities.
Long term, our vision is to layer AI into the platform to help connect people through shared experiences, interests, and personalities in a way that encourages more real-world interaction. We’re also launching an AI pilot across Bay Area campuses built alongside a psychology professor to study and measure real-world social outcomes.
We’re still very early and shipping constantly, so we’d genuinely love feedback, ideas, and thoughts from the community. Thanks so much for checking us out 🙏

Who hunted Mutuals?
Mutuals was hunted by Anagh Shetty. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
