I built MURMURLINE because when Omegle shut down, there wasn't a clean, trustworthy replacement — most alternatives are ad-stuffed, video-first, or don't actually protect what you type.
A few things I cared about getting right:
- No accounts, ever. Pick an alias, press start, you're paired instantly.
- Real E2EE — ECDH P-256 key exchange + AES-256-GCM, fresh keys per conversation. The server only ever sees ciphertext.
- Nothing persists. Close the tab and the conversation + its keys are gone for good.
- Actual moderation without reading your messages — client-side pattern detection + report button, with graduated timeouts instead of permanent bans.
It's free, no app to install, works on mobile. Would love feedback — especially on anything that feels unsafe or unclear.
