Hey Product Hunt!

We built munch because we wanted a recipe app that felt more social. Most recipe apps focus on storing recipes and a single player experience, but we wanted one where you can discover what your friends and the community are cooking, share your own recipes, and build a collection you'll actually come back to.

The idea came after entering my first year of university last year. Having to cook on my own in my dorm, I realize what many students experience. Many of us fall into the habit of eat out all the time or constantly order UberEats. The unhealthy nature of this behaviour and the increased cost and food waste along with it is an issue many of us don't realize.

Our hope is that bringing cooking into a something more social will motivate, not just students, but everyone to cook more often and inspire each other. We built features to make cooking more accessible and social such as making everyones recipe collections public so you can see what your friends are planning.

We would genuinely love to hear your thoughts and feedback. Munch is completely free, with zero in-app purchases.

Thanks so much for checking out Munch!

Who hunted Munch?

Munch was hunted by Jonathan Zhou. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
