The Multiavatar generator was originally written in JavaScript in 2020, and later rewritten in PHP and Python. While JavaScript, PHP, and Python are similar programming languages, Solidity, which is used for writing Ethereum smart contracts, is vastly different. As a result, many sections of the Multiavatar code had to be reimagined in completely different ways. You can read more about these challenges in the GitHub repository.
Multiavatar in Solidity is the essential part of the upcoming Multiavatar NFT collection, as all NFT images of the collection will be generated by this smart contract entirely on-chain, eliminating the need for a centralized server to host the Multiavatar generator.
