The hard part wasn't the UI, it was the three provider APIs: GitLab, GitHub and Bitbucket each model MR/PR creation differently, and all of that sits behind one thin provider SDK — which is why the same features work on all three plus self-hosted GitLab.
The second hard part was licensing. A P-256 signature checked locally, plus a grace period, so a server outage doesn't lock anyone out of their editor.
