MoveMap: Lifetime GPS Heatmap
Your running history on one map. No AI. No account.
MoveMap is the iPhone running map that reads your existing Apple Health data instead of asking you to switch trackers. Pricing: Monthly ($1.99, 7-day trial), Annual ($9.99), or one-time Lifetime ($19.99). Free tier covers the last 12 months, no signup. Features that make it stand out: lifetime map of every GPS workout up to 10 years, heat mode (the personal heatmap Strava paywalls), street coverage %, countries you visited, Year in Review postcard. No accounts, no servers, no AI.
Quick observation before I introduce my thing: of the ~30 products that hit top 10 on PH this past week and a majority of them have "AI" in their tagline. The rest are mostly developer tools. The Health & Fitness category has been essentially empty.
MoveMap is going to look weird here. So let me just say what it is upfront.
I built MoveMap because I'd been running for 7 years across three cities, using Strava, then Apple Fitness, then Nike Run Club. I had thousands of GPS routes recorded and zero way to see them together. Strava locks the personal heatmap behind an $80/year subscription. Garmin Connect only knows Garmin. Apple Health stores everything and renders nothing.
So I built the smallest possible thing that solves it: an iPhone app that reads your GPS workout history from Apple Health and draws every run, ride, and hike on one map. That's it. No AI. No social feed. No training plan that pings you on weekends.
What's different about how it's built:
- No accounts. No sign-in, no email, no profile. - No servers. MoveMap has no backend. Your routes are read locally and never leave your iPhone. - No analytics SDKs. I don't track what you tap, where you ran, or whether you opened the app today. - No AI features. Not because I'm philosophically opposed to AI, but because there isn't anything an LLM could meaningfully add to "draw these GPS points on a map" that wouldn't just be theatre.
- Works with everything that writes to Apple Health. Strava, Garmin, Nike Run Club, Apple Fitness, etc.
Pricing: Monthly ($1.99 with 7-day free trial), Annual ($9.99), or a one-time Lifetime unlock at $19.99.* Free tier covers the last 12 months of your map.
*Prices vary by region. I spent time customizing the price points for multiple countries. India, Brazil, Mexico, and others see lower prices. My goal is to make this app accessible for everyone.
A few small features worth calling out: - Heat mode - the personal heatmap Strava paywalls - Street coverage - tracks the % of streets in your city you've actually run, biked, or walked - Passport mode - see all the countries you worked out in - Year in Review postcard - 1080×1920 image of every route from a year, ready to share
If you enjoy the app and want to support an indie dev, both subscription and one-time Lifetime options are available.
Two ways to join the conversation:
- Already using MoveMap? Drop a screenshot of your lifetime map. Country view, continent view, or whatever zoom you're comfortable sharing.
- Not yet? Drop the country you most want to see on yours - I'll feature the most-requested one in the next batch of screenshots.
Replying all day (Pacific Time, Vancouver). Thanks for reading 🙏
