Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Shubham, and I built Mopus.
About 6 months ago, I built an AI video reframing tool for Mac, optimized for Apple Silicon. It was just a Python script running in my terminal. I played around with it for a while, then moved on to other things.
Last week, I randomly decided to revisit it. I started experimenting with WebGPU and realized I could run the entire thing directly in the browser. So I spent the week turning that old project into Mopus.
I was also looking at tools like OpusClip, which can be pretty expensive for something like AI reframing.
Since everything runs on your own device, it doesn't really cost me anything to process videos. Apart from some Claude credits and free hosting, hence I made it completely free for everyone.
Mopus is:
- Free and unlimited, with no watermarks
- Completely private — your videos never leave your device
- Runs in your browser, no installation or sign-up
- AI-powered reframing for 9:16, 4:5, 1:1, and 16:9

I'm planning to open-source more of the work soon.
In the future, I'd love to experiment with automatically creating movie recaps and sports highlights.
It's still a small project, and I'm sure there's plenty to improve. I'd really appreciate it if you gave it a try and shared your feedback, especially if something doesn't work as expected.
