A shared ASCII canvas – a wall you fill together
Monophobie is a shared 256×256 ASCII canvas where everyone draws on the same grid. Pick a glyph, place it, it stays. You only get a handful of tokens that refill slowly, so the wall only fills if people show up together. Part r/place, part guestbook, all monospace.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I always wanted my personal site to have a wall where people could leave messages, and I've always loved r/place. Monophobie is what happened when I tried to build my own version. It's a shared 256×256 ASCII canvas — pick a character, place it, and it stays for everyone. The catch: you get a small bucket of tokens that refills slowly, so nobody fills the canvas alone. It only comes together when people show up at the same time. Hence the name (monophobie = fear of being alone). No signup to start — just drop in and leave a glyph. Built with TanStack Start, Postgres, Redis + BullMQ, and Better-Auth with passkeys for anyone curious about the stack. Curious what you all leave on it. Go make a mark 👇
