ModusPad
Launchpad is back, and now it switches with your work
macOS Tahoe replaced Launchpad with the Apps view. ModusPad brings the full-screen app grid back with pages, folders, search, drag & drop, and one-click import of your old Launchpad layout. But it goes beyond recreating Launchpad: profiles like Work, Home, or Studio each have their own layout, hidden apps, and apps to launch, and switch automatically with Focus modes, connected displays, or schedules. Built for macOS 26 & 27. No account required. Free for 14 days, then a one-time purchase.
Hi Product Hunt! I'm Vlad, the indie developer behind ModusPad 👋
When macOS Tahoe replaced Launchpad, I tried the alternatives. They bring the app grid back and do it well. But I realized my Mac isn't just one setup.
During the day I need Xcode, Slack, and Figma. In the evening, maybe Music and Photos. When I connect a large display, my setup changes again. I wanted my launcher to understand that too.
That's why ModusPad is built around profiles. Each profile can have its own app layout, hidden apps, and apps to launch automatically. Profiles can switch based on Focus mode, a connected display, or a schedule, and ModusPad tells you what switched and why.
The launcher itself should feel familiar: pages, folders, search, and drag & drop. You can move multiple apps at once, create smart folders that organize themselves, and import your old Launchpad layout in one click if it's still available on your Mac.
There's no account and no tracking. ModusPad only goes online to start the trial and check your license.
Everything is available free for 14 days, with no card required. After that, it's a one-time purchase starting at $10.99. If you don't buy, the launcher still keeps working with your existing setup.
I'd really love to hear your feedback, especially this:
What would you want your Mac to switch automatically when your context changes?
