Hey Product Hunt! I'm Jacob, the maker of Modex, and I'm pumped to share this with you today.
What drove me to build this
As a software engineer that works with AI technology on a day-to-day basis, I am very familiar with modern AI tech and frameworks. I have a keen understanding of integrating structured AI outputs into full stack systems, and I saw an opportunity. Browsing extensions exist famously on desktop browsers, and have limited options and flexibility. Mobile browsing is even worse - almost no mobile browsers support modern extension functionality. So, why not solve that problem in style? Adding mobile browser extension support while allowing users to fully create their own extensions in seconds is the heart of Modex.
What Modex does
Modex is a mobile browser with an AI extension factory built right in.
You open a site, tap the extension button, and describe what you want to change in plain English. Things like:
"Hide all the ads and sidebar widgets"
"Make this site dark mode"
"Add a word count to this text editor"
"Make the font bigger and increase line spacing"
Modex generates a real, working JavaScript + CSS extension and injects it into the page — live, in seconds. No Chrome. No dev tools. No code. Just describe, generate, done.
Your extensions get saved to your account, synced across your devices, and can be toggled on or off for any site you visit. If a generated extension isn't quite right, the AI Code Editor can refine it in another pass.
Why mobile?
Because that's where the frustration is sharpest. Mobile browsers give you almost no customization. You're just stuck with whatever the website gives you. Modex changes that — it's the browser that fights back on your behalf.
