Modbus Poll
The Modbus monitor Mac engineers actually needed
Modbus Poll is a free, lightweight Mac app to monitor and write Modbus RTU & TCP/IP registers. Supports FC01–FC16, auto-polling, and multiple display modes. Available on the Mac App Store for Apple Silicon.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I built Modbus Poll because every Modbus tool I found for Mac was either a Windows app running under Wine, a clunky Java app, or a paid subscription for something I only needed occasionally.
I work with PLCs and industrial sensors, and every time I needed to quickly check a register value I had to boot up a Windows VM. That felt wrong.
So I built a native macOS app with Tauri + Rust — lightweight, fast, and actually pleasant to use. It supports both RTU Serial and TCP/IP, all the common function codes (FC01–FC16), auto-polling, and multiple display modes (Dec/Hex/Bin/Float).
It's available on the Mac App Store for $0.99 — a one-time purchase, no subscription.
Would love to hear from anyone working with Modbus — what features would make this more useful for your workflow? Happy to answer any questions! 🙌
