Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm the maker of MiNTO Chat.
The idea started from a simple frustration: you're at a
café, you notice someone interesting nearby — but there's
no natural way to start a conversation without being weird
about it. Every chat app is built for people you already
know, not people you're sharing a moment with right now.
So we built MiNTO around two ideas:
1. Nearby-only chat — you can only talk to people within
1km. No username search, mutual approval required. The
distance guard means when you leave, the conversation
naturally ends.
2. Ping (our AR bulletin board) — you can drop a short
note at any real-world location. It floats in AR for 24
hours, then vanishes. It's like leaving a sticky note for
whoever walks by next.
We wanted conversations to feel light and honest — no
follower counts, no permanent history, just the moment.
