Hey Product Hunt! My brother Christopher and I built MidiTabs because of a problem he kept running into as a professional guitarist: turning what he played into accurate tablature and notation meant stopping the creative process and manually writing everything out. We thought there should be a better way. Christopher brought the musician’s perspective and I brought the developer’s perspective, and together we built MidiTabs, a desktop app that lets guitarists play naturally and turn their performance into editable tablature and notation. But our ambition goes beyond one app. We’re building a music technology company, starting with the guitar. We think guitarists have been underserved by many of the advances happening in music technology, and it’s a space where our combination of music and software experience gives us an interesting opportunity to build. We’re still very early, so launching here is as much about learning as it is about getting MidiTabs into more hands.
