MeetingScribe

Live captions, transcripts & AI notes — 100% on your Mac

MeetingScribe records, captions, and summarizes meetings entirely on your Mac — no bot joining your call, no cloud, no subscription. Live captions stream from the Neural Engine as people speak; a 45-minute call transcribes in ~90 seconds with speakers separated automatically. One click writes a summary with action items using your own Claude account, or fully offline with Apple Intelligence. Your audio never leaves the machine. Free and open source.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I built MeetingScribe because every meeting notetaker I tried had the same two problems: a bot awkwardly joining the call, and my conversations being uploaded to someone else's cloud on a subscription I didn't want. So MeetingScribe does everything on-device. Apple's Neural Engine handles transcription and speaker separation — a 45-minute call processes in about 90 seconds, and live captions appear while people are still talking. Summaries with action items come from your own Claude account (or fully offline via Apple Intelligence). Nothing to pay for, nothing uploaded, and the code is open source on GitHub. The hardest part was capturing the *other* side of a call — macOS won't record speaker output natively, so the app auto-routes audio through a virtual device for the duration of the recording and switches back when you stop. Would love to hear what you'd want next — Windows support, more languages, or something else. Happy to answer anything!
