Hi everyone — I’m Daniel 👋 I’m a Swede shaped by the Nordic outdoors, where nature, adventure, hunting, and cooking have always been part of life. I’ve spent most of my career in tech & software, but I’ve always had the itch to create a physical product of my own — in a space I love. The idea hit me on a rainy day in the mountains. I was thinking about the old craft of drying and curing meat — something humans have done for thousands of years — and wondered why there wasn’t a simple, modern tool that makes it easier and more fun for people like me to do it at home. I had already started curing meat from my own wild game and used traditional methods from countries like Italy and Spain, where the target weight and climate are key metrics during a curing process that can take anything from weeks to more than a year. I wanted to combine that with a community, plus expertise and recipes from around the world. That moment kicked off this project. I went to my garage and started testing the basics. Could I track and predict everything that matters? Could it run on a tiny amount of power and still last more than a year on a battery? Could I make it simple and affordable enough for anyone to use? I designed the electronics, wrote the first version of the software, and built the app. The first prototype proved the idea actually worked — and that gave me the push to turn it into a real product. We’ve tested it for over a year now, and it’s spreading like wildfire — it’s already popular among local hunters, homesteaders, and foodies. Today I’m launching it here on Product Hunt. It’s been a mix of engineering and heritage, innovation and tradition — and a very personal journey to bring an old craft into a modern form.
