MealRotate

Your recipe list, turned into a week of dinners

MealRotate picks seven different dinners from your own recipes, weighted by how long it’s been since you cooked them. Import a CSV, shuffle the week, pin or reroll any day, and keep everything private on your iPhone—free, offline, and account-free.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I kept seeing people on r/productivity build surprisingly elaborate spreadsheets to answer a simple question: “What should I cook this week?” They tracked when each dish was last cooked and used formulas to stop the same few meals from crowding out everything else. The logic made sense. The maintenance didn’t. So I built MealRotate: a small iPhone app that turns your own recipe list into seven different dinners. Add recipes manually or import the CSV you already keep, then tap Shuffle week. Meals you haven’t cooked in a while get more weight. You can pin days that already work, reroll the others, and mark dishes as cooked so they move to the back of the rotation. I deliberately left out the usual layers: no generated recipes, no account, no subscription, no server, and no tracking. MealRotate is free, works completely offline, and lets you export your recipes whenever you want. I’d especially love feedback from people who already keep a recipe list or spreadsheet: does this remove enough of the weekly decision-making, and what would make the rotation more useful without making it more complicated?
