I built this because I wanted a markdown editor that was fast, quiet, and useful. The tools I tried fell into two categories. The bigger apps could do everything, but they felt bloated. The lightweight ones were nice to use, but they gave me little feedback. I’d finish a draft and still have no idea if it was clear, repetitive, or full of the same phrases I always use. So I started building the editor I wanted: a native markdown app with writing feedback built in. It includes readability checks, sentence variety, cliché detection, reading time, focus modes, templates, snippets, and a Pomodoro timer. None of those came from a product checklist. They were things I kept needing while writing. I chose Tauri because I wanted the app to run locally and fast, without the overhead of a browser. I kept the frontend simple, too—no big frameworks or extra layers, simply a tool for writing. It started as a project for myself. Once the core experience worked, I focused on making it reliable for other people. That meant signed releases, auto-updates, cross-platform builds, and a seven-day trial without needing a credit card. The goal is simple: open the app, write, focus, and get useful feedback before your work leaves your desk.
