A friend of ours is a lawyer, with a small team. She was starting out and tried to use enterprise software like Clio and PracticePanther, but they were either too expensive or were bloated with features that target enterprise firms, which she did not need. So she approached us to develop a simpler version for her. We then saw 8 other solo lawyers with the same problem, so we built Mattersimple.com - a SaaS that allows boutique firms to manage matters, clients, run conflict check, generate invoices and create public websites all at one low price. No more hidden features behind paywalls. This is being used in production and we're looking to get more small-scale firms on board.
