Every "AI math solver" has the same problem: LLMs hallucinate math. You get a confident answer and a plausible-looking step that's just… wrong. As someone who learns by seeing the
working, that drove me up the wall.
So I built this backwards. The AI's only job is to read your problem — typed, or from a photo of your (typed or handwritten) homework. The actual computing is done by a deterministic
symbolic engine (nerdamer in-browser, SymPy on the backend), and every step is shown. The answer isn't a guess — it's what a CAS gives you, with the method laid out.
And when a problem genuinely can't be computed symbolically — a proof, say — it tells you it's reasoning, not verifying, instead of pretending. That honesty was the whole point.
