I'm Ghali, an indie maker from Bali. My notes are just a folder of .md files, some of them inside git repos. Most Markdown apps wanted me to import everything into their own library or database, and the lightweight ones felt like a text box with a preview bolted on. So I built Markly.
What it does:
• Point it at any folder and it edits your .md files in place. Files changed elsewhere (git, other editors) reload on their own.
• Everything renders as you type. Markers like ** and # collapse on lines you aren't editing and come back when the caret moves there.
• One-click Git sync from the sidebar: commit, pull (rebase) and push, scoped to your notes folder.
• Focus on paragraph, typewriter scrolling and a GitHub-style preview with KaTeX math, plus HTML/PDF export.
It's fully native (SwiftUI, AppKit and Apple's Liquid Glass), works offline, and has no accounts, analytics or tracking. It needs macOS 26 Tahoe, it's universal (Apple silicon + Intel), and it's MIT licensed.
